What can you possibly say about
your company being a significant part of the largest touring act of
all time in Country music? From the beginning of his career opening
for such acts as the Judds to Steve Wariner, we knew we were
involved with something very special! Then after the incredible
night at the State Fair of Texas in 1990 when we were all surprised
by tens of thousands of adoring fans, he asked us to promote his
largest endeavor to date…. Texas Stadium in 1993. In planning for
over two years we were overwhelmed by his enthusiasm at the first
meeting at his home in Nashville….. 26 cameras, rings of fire,
simulated lightning and rain, flying by wires from the 200 foot high
ceiling, and you want us to reinforce the roof of Texas Stadium
(with the now infamous “Garth bars”) so you can fly over 100,000
pounds of gear?…. Sure we can do that Garth. Then driving to the
airport, Linda and I looked at each other and said, “How are we
going to do that?” |

Well
we did all of that and more and nearly 200,000 people over
three night’s saw what would become the Garth Brooks II
Network Television Special. It still holds the record
for attendance of a country music event to date by a single
artist! For nearly another decade from California to
Texas to Ohio to Virginia and millions of fans and several
TV shows, what can you say? How about thanks, Garth. |
